Official ship's badge of HMS Rocket
The ship's badge of HMS 'Rocket' 1916. The official design, approved in November May 1922. On a blue field, the 'Rocket' steam engine gold on a base green. It shows George Stephenson's 'Rocket' winner of the Rainhill Trials in 1918.The badge is shield-shaped with a gold rope twist border, a naval crown above. 'ROCKET' is inscribed in the name tablet. It is made of cast brass, painted and drilled at the corners. HMS 'Rocket' was an R-class destroyer, built by William Denny & Brothers, Dumbarton and launched in 1916. She was broken up in 1926.
