Terrestrial and celestial pocket globe

Celestial pocket globe - case for the terrestrial pocket globe. Spherical case consists of two hinged hemispheres with three hook and eye clasps. It is lined with gores depicting celestial sphere. Stars are represented by different symbols, but a magnitude table is absent. The Milky Way is labelled. A total of six stars and 2 star groups are named. The 48 Ptolemaic constellations and four of the non-Ptolemaic constellations are drawn. There are four of the southern constellations as well as those of Plancius and all those of Hevelius. Not all the southern constellations are labelled.
