Defeat of the Danes in the attack on Anholt, March 27th 1811
The Plate is inscribed: "To Captn. J. W. Maurice, R. N. Major Robert Torren, Royal marines, the Officers and Men, who so gallantly repulsed the Danish Armament, in the attack on Anholt, March 27 1811, in which the Enemy sustained the loss of 20 Officers, 530 Prisoners taken, and nearly 300 killed and wounded, the loss of the British, being only 34 killed and wounded.
