Iron bound pine truck, with iron handles at either end. Three hinges at back, two keyholes and oval escutcheons at front. Brass internal locks. Joints dovetailed. Zinc lined. Two side metal struts to keep the lide upright when open. Stenciled on lid: "S.Y. DISCOVERY ANTARCTIC".
