Plate chest
Plate chest belonging to Sir John Franklin (1786-1847). An iron-bound oak chest with two iron handles at each end. It has a pine base and the remains of marbled lining paper in the lid. On a brass plate on the front: 'Capt. Sir John Franklin No 3'.
