St Jean d'Acre Medal, Syrian War 1840
Obverse: The Sultan's cypher in Arabic, surrounded by a laurel wreath. Reverse: A fort flying the Turkish flag, above, six stars, inscription below in Arabic "1256" (1840) "The country of Syria and the fortress of Acre". Uninscribed. Suspended from an ornamental gold bar and crimson ribbon edged with white fitted with a buckle and pin. Awarded by the Sultan of Turkey in gold and silver to officers and in bronze to men.
