Counter commemorating the defeat of the corsairs of Barbary, 1732 by Admiral René Duguay-Trouin (1673-1736). Obverse: Bust of Admiral Louis Alexandre de Bourbon, Comte de Toulouse (1678-1737) in armour and mantle. Legend: 'L . ALEXA . DE BOURBON C . DE TOULOUZE ADMIRAL DE FCE.' Reverse: Neptune, standing on a sea shell, striking sea dogs with his trident. Legend: 'NEC DESUNT FULMINA PONTO. ' (Nor does the sea lack thunderbolts.) Exergue: 'MARINE 1732.'
