Within a circular silver border of laurel, a blue enamel ring of pale blue inscribed 'BOROUGH OF PORTSMOUTH' surrounding the star and crescent of the Borough arms on a shield of dark blue. Inscribed on back, 'NAVAL BRIGADE SOUTH AFRICA 1899-1900; NORTH CHINA 1900'. Fitted with a ring.
