Commemorative ingot depicting a Phoenician trading ship circa 1400 BC

Rectangular shaped ingot. Obverse: Port broadside view of a Phoenician trading ship, sail furled, lying up at dockside. Inscription: 'PHOENICIAN TRADING SHIP'. Reverse: Inscription, 'PHOENICIAN TRADING SHIP C.1400 B.C. Used by the Phoenicians to establish a great trading empire, the Phoenician trading ship sailed throughout the Red Sea and the eastern Mediterranean. The absence of a rope support for the bow and stern indicated the structured strength of the hull. This ship was designed specifically for large cargo capacity.'
