Rectangular shaped ingot. Obverse: Port broadside view of a Baltimore clipper, sails set. Inscription: 'BALTIMORE CLIPPER'. Reverse: Inscription, 'BALTIMORE CLIPPER Nineteenth Century. A symbol of American maritime romance, the Baltimore Clipper was a significant development in ship design, fast, fine lined and carrying a large sail area, these vessels were in demand as privateers, blockade runners and in other trades where speed was a requisite'.
