Silver Jubilee medal, King George V 1935

Obverse: Busts of their Majesties, crowned (left) Legend: 'GEORGE V AND QUEEN MARY MAY VI MCMXXXV.' Reverse: Royal cypher "GRI" between dates 'MAY 6 1910' & 'MAY 6 1935'. Awarded to Commander Alfred Englefield Evans R.N. On a bar with five other medals.

Alfred Englefield Evans (1884-1944) was a successful cricketer and Vice Admiral in the Royal Navy. He fought during the first world war and at the Battle of Jutland. He was appointed a Companion of the Bath in the 1937 Coronation Honours and was appointed a Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1943.
