Obverse: Short bust of Queen Victoria, crowned and veiled, with order (L). Legend: "VICTORIA REGINA ET IMPERATRIX". Reverse: The Canadian flag with a maple wreath. Legend: "CANADA". Bar: "FENIAN RAID 1866". Inscription on edge: "SUB.LT.E.F.JEFFERYS H.M.S.AURORA". Mounted on bar with three other medals. Fitted with a clasp and scarlet ribbon with a central white stripe.
