Poem in memory of the men who lost their lives when HMS INVINCIBLE was destroyed by a magazine explosion during the Battle of Jutland, 31 May 1916, and letters to Mrs Esther Carrington (Wife of Albert Edward Carrington, 1st Stoker on HMS INVINCIBLE) from Lady Ellen Hood recounting the experience of Captain Hubert Edward Dannreuther who survived the destruction of HMS INVINCIBLE in the hope that it would give Miss Carrington comfort in her loss as it gave Lady Ellen Hood comfort for the loss of Rear Admiral Sir Horace Lambert Alexander Hood.
