Flag, Kuwait
Flag with the 1940 emblem of Kuwait.
The flag is made of blue wool bunting (double sided) with a cotton hoist with two brass grommets and is machine sewn. It is embroidered with four gold crowns in the corners and in the centre, the 1940 Kuwait emblem - a shield with a crown above bearing two crossed red flags and a hovering falcon. It was designed by the Sultan of Kuwait, Abdullah al-Salim (1895-1965).
The falg was presented to C. J. Pelly, political agent, Kuwait, between 1951-55.
