Arethusa (1849)

Scale 1:48. Plan show the main deck of the Arethusa (1849), a 50 gun fourth rate ship of the line, converted to a steam frigate in 1860. The drawing bears the signature of Isaac Watts [Chief Constructor of the Navy, 1860-1863], Joseph Large [Constructor 1861-1863], the initials J.L, and Admiral Sir Baldwin Wake Walker [Controller of the Navy 1848-1861] and the initials J.G. This drawing is a copy recieved from Chatham Dockyard and signed by William. B. Robinson [Assistant Master Shipwright at Sheerness Dockyard 1853-1862] on 31 March 1862.
