Patch box
Oval patch box commemorating the battles of the Glorious 1st of June, 1794, Camperdown and Cape St Vincent 1797. The surface enamelled with pale blue base and sides, the white lid with an untinted transfer depicting Duncan's flag ship between two laurel sprays. The transfer is inscribed 'HOWE & JERVIS Victory did Command and DUNCAN'S Glory doth unrivall'd stand'; beneath the ship 'The Venerable'.
