Patch box
Oval patch box with a mirror inside the lid, commemorating Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). The surface is enamelled, the base and sides blue. The lid has a blue rim with white spots and is painted in colour with figures representing Hope and Victory seated beside a monument. Victory writes 'Sacred to Nelson' on the plinth and holds a scroll inscribed 'Nelsons Removed to the Armies above'.
