Patch box
Oval patch box with a mirror inside the lid commemorating the military and naval heroes of the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. The surface is enamelled, the base and sides royal blue. A tinted transfer on the white lid depicts Fame, looking out to sea, blowing a trumpet and holding a scroll inscribed 'Duncan Jervis, Abercromby Nelson Howe'. Behind her the figure of Plenty holds out a laurel wreath. There is a cornucopia in the foreground and two ships in the background. Above the figures is the inscription: 'Fae Proclaiming her Heroes Peace with Plenty'
