Submarine cable section

A section of deep-sea cable. It is cylindrical with a brass mount. The stranded copper wire surrounded by outer sheathing, a single covering of canvas tape followed by a coat of Bright and Clark's compound, then a single covering of Bright and Clark's hemps compounded. Twenty galvanised iron wires.
