Stater of Demetrius I, 294-286 BC
Casts of the obverse and reverse of a stater of Demetrius I, 294-286 BC (Demetrius Poliorcetes, King of Macedon). On the reverse is the figure of Poseidon, on the front is Nike on a ship's prow perhaps commemorating a naval battle at Salamis in 306BC. Inscription: 'DEMETRIOS BASILEUS'. The casts are mounted on an emulsioned plywood backboard with a label.
