Yacht(1795); Recreation vessel

Scale: 1:24. A contemporary full hull model of a private yacht, circa 1795, built plank on solid in the Georgian style. It is fully furnished inside the cabins and complete with original fabrics such as curtains and carpets. The model is decked, equipped, and has a working sliding keel and extending rudder blade. It is one of a series of models illustrating Captain John Schanck’s (1740-1823) sliding keels (see also ‘Lady Nelson’, SLR0601) and was probably a model originally made as a design and modified later to show interior details and decoration. It is unlikely that this vessel was ever built.
