Somerset (1738); Passenger/cargo vessel; East Indiaman

Scale: 1:48. A contemporary full hull model of the Somerset (1738), an East Indiaman cargo vessel, built plank on frame in the Navy Board style. The model is decked. The Somerset is the oldest model of an East Indiaman in the Museum collection and one of the oldest in the country. The model is in the style of the Navy Board models, though with some anomalies and built to a slightly lower standard.
