RRS Discovery (1901); Exploration/research vessel; Barque

Scale: 1:48. A full hull model of the polar exploration and research vessel RRS Discovery (1901) made entirely in wood with metal, organic and synthetic material fittings and painted in realistic colours. The depicted vessel is a three-masted barque rigged steam ship. The hull is painted black overall with white-painted strakes. Fittings include bowsprit, forecastle with what appear to be white-painted guardrails, a number of ship’s boats with white-painted hulls, a single cream-painted funnel and a companion way rigged to the starboard broadside hull. The model is mounted on a pair of turned white metal pillar supports and a pair of stabilizers.
