Equipment model; Anchor model

Scale: Unknown. A model of a Costell's portable anchor, made entirely in iron and either painted or patinated a grey/black colour. The shank tapers and is rectangular in section with rounded short sides. Towards the top the shank widens again and on either side is a square ledge, possibly for the provision of a stock. The top of the shank is rounded and incorporates a circular hole to accommodate either a ring or cable. The bottom of the shank is forked between which the arms are slotted in, which are cast in a separate piece. The arms are secured by a peg, or bolt, through the crown of the shank. The arms terminate in conventionally shaped flukes.
