Prince (fl.1830); Unknown vessel
Scale: unknown. A contemporary full hull plank on frame model of a small sailing craft, ‘Prince’ (circa 1830), fitted with a square sail on a revolving mast. The model was probably made to accompany a patent application for a concept where a small craft to be sailed with a square sail that would capture more wind without ‘dipping’ the yard around the bottom of the mast when going about or tacking.
