Gun model; Carronade model

Scale: Unknown. A model of a carronade on a pivoting sea-service sliding carriage (early 19th century) made in metal and wood, possibly walnut. The gun is patinated a dark bronze finish, has a number of reinforcing rings and has an integral front sight, aft sight, pommel and vent. The elevation thread, ring bolts, trucks and the curved edging strip around the front of the mobile pedestal are brass. The mobile pedestal and the housing for the horizontal rotation axis are made in a light-coloured wood. The sliding carriage is made in a dark wood, possibly stained or patinated.
