Liquid compass.

Bowl: Brass painted black. Held in container by six springs. Has expansion chamber at base and filler plug on the side. Container made of white metal. Verge ring graduated to 120 degrees, 60 - 0 - 60 scale. White on inside with black moveable lubber line. Lubber moved by wheel on outside of bowl with spindle through into bowl by means of water-tight gland.

Card: Mica? card painted white with black markings, graduated 0 - 36 (360) and to 32 points. White domed float at centre. Beneath the card is a moveable disc to adjust the lubber line.

Needle: Unsighted.

Pivot: Unsighted.
