Replica of Tompion clock movement for clock in Octagon Room panelling. Year clock movement with bolt and shutter maintaining power, recoil escapement and 2-second pendulum suspended above the movement. Concentric hour and minute hands, subsidiary seconds hand.

Hour hand completes one revolution in 12 hours. Minute hand completes one revolution in 2 hours. Seconds hand completes one revolution in 2 minutes. Dial made by British Museum workshop.
