Clock
The idea of a decimal clock for the use of astronomers is considered to have originated with Newton and this clock is believed to have once belonged to him. The minute hand rotates once every ten minutes, so that the divisions can be read to within 2 seconds (the small divisions on the outer scale) without the aid of a seconds hand. The hours (inner scale) are divided into 10-minute intervals. It has an oak case with ebonized veneer, gilt dial.
