Craft workshop: Solebay Tapestry
Drop-in sessions at 11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm | Undercroft
Inspired by the magnificent Battle of Solebay Tapestry, discover how artists once used pigments made from insects to create rich crimson and carmine threads.
Then help make a collaborative tapestry artwork or create your own colourful design using shades inspired by history.

This family-friendly paper moth and butterfly workshop draws inspiration from the remarkable journey of silk and the creatures that make it possible.
Through creative making, explore the story of the Bombyx mori moth, the origins of silk production in China, and the maritime trade routes that connected communities across continents.
