Join the astronomers at the Royal Observatory Greenwich and observe the Moon with our telescopes... during the day.
This special Daytime Moon Observing event is perfect for beginners and seasoned astronomers alike, as well as people who have never looked through a telescope before! Out expert astronomers will be on hand to help you enjoy the chance to see the astonishing features of our natural satellite, the Moon, during the day.
And with the arrival of the amazing Mirror Moon sculpture in the Meridian Courtyard at the Royal Observatory, there's never been a better time to try your hand at space observation. Check out the Moon through our telescopes, then run your fingers over the lunar surface of Mirror Moon.
Astronomy isn’t just a night-time activity!
You'll have two opportunities to try Daytime Moon Observing this summer: on Friday 10 and Friday 17 July 2026.
- Please note that this event is weather dependent.
