Journal kept by Stokes Lees as a midshipman on the ironclad frigate HMS ROYAL OAK (1862) in the Mediterranean, between 1 January 1870 and 31 December 1870, including views and track charts. Between 21 June 1870 and 31 July 1870 he was training on the ironclad battleship HMS LORD WARDEN (1865).
