Letterbook used by Stokes Rees while in command of the cruiser HMS THETIS (1890) on the Mediterranean and Cape of Good Hope stations, covering the period between 28 December and 19 April 1900. It includes references to events in Crete and the Boer War, and trials of frozen meat and the Marconi system.
