HMS Canopus (ex Franklin captured at Battle of Nile 1798)
A watercolour drawing of HMS Canopus (1798) and Hind cutter off Malta. Thomas B Horner was retired as commander on 11.4.1865. His rank as lieutenant dated from 02.01.1854. He is likely to have known Canopus when she was on harbour service in this country (UK), rather than in Malta.
