Unofficial badge of HMS Hood
Badge. HMS Hood 1918. Depiction of a bird (chough). Official design. Naval crown. Circular shape. The background colour of the field differs from Admiralty Ships' Badges Committee description. There are further differences, including the placing of the ship's name, the colour of the jewels under the crown and subtle difference in the carving of the chough which indicate this badge was made before the official pattern was approved in September 1919. No bolt holes for attachment to vessel.
