Terrestrial table globe
Terrestrial table globe. It forms a pair with the celestial globe, Doppyelmayr GLB0076. Geographical details on the sphere include California drawn as a peninsula. Tasmania is missing, there is a label for the hypothetical continent, 'Terra Australis Incognita', but there are no contours of land. There are three notes on discoveries, including, for example, 'Terra detecta per David Anglum 1680'. The track of Dampier's navigations are recorded and labelled 'Navigatio Dampieri 1688'.
