Terrestrial floor globe. Geographical details on the sphere show the location of the 'Antipodes of Greenwich'. The antarctic continent is labelled, 'SUPPOSED ANTARCTIC CONTINENT'. In a damaged region, there is a note 'South Magnetic Pole / Hereabout'. In the south polar region, there are two notes with data on the magnetic variation.

Close to 'Owhyhee, near Karakakooa Bay', there is a note of Cook's killing: 'At this place Cap.t Cook was killed by the Natives Feb 14 1779 & was succeeded ... command by Cap.t Clerke ... the Resolution.' At the north side of the Sandwich Islands, the killings of Lieutenant Hergest, Mr Gooch, the 18th century astronomer and another seaman, is reported.

There are 11 notes on discoveries, for example, in the north polar area, to the left of Spitsbergen 'Coast Examined by Cap.t Scoresby in 1822'. The tracks of Cook's voyages in 1769, 1771, 1772-1775, 1776 and 1778 are shown along with those of de la Perouse, Vancouver and Gore. A total of eight oceans are named.
