Turkish Crimea Medal 1855
Sardinian type awarded to Captain William Henry Fawckner (1829-1914). Obverse: a field gun with a map of the Crimea upon it, a mortar, anchor and other trophies with the four flags of the allies behind. Exergue: 'LA CRIMEA 1855'. Reverse: The Sultan's cypher and inscription within a laurel wreath tied with a bow. Inscription: '1271' (Arabic date). The medal is suspended from a straight bar and pink ribbon edged with green. It is mounted on a bar with four others in fitted wooden box.
