Watercolour on card with an elaborate border. In the centre of the panel is a watercolour of a black woman sitting on a basket with a pear in her hand. Her clothes and headscarf have been done in watercolour and prickwork. Under the figure is the handwritten inscription: 'Pity the poor Negro!'.
