Satchel
Hand sewn satchel belonging to Captain F. L. McClintock (1817-1907). The satchel is closed by three rope ties and has shoulder straps ending in rope. "24" marked in ink on the back.
McClintock's journal (MCL18) dating to 7 July 1857 records that they commenced making knapsacks for travelling purposes.
