Army of India Medal 1851
Obverse: Head of Queen Victoria with a diadem, hair tied in a knot (L). Legend: "VICTORIA REGINA". Reverse: Winged Victory at the foot of a palm tree, a wreath in her left hand an olive branch in her right hand, a trophy at her feet. Legend:"TO THE ARMY OF INDIA". Exergue: "1799-1820". Suspended from a cusped bar and pale blue ribbon. Bar: "AVA" Inscribed on edge, "J. GARDNER, BOATSWAIN'S MATE".
