Obverse: Short bust of Queen Elizabeth II, crowned (R) Legend: "ELIZABETH II D:G:BR:OMN:REGINA: F:D:". Reverse: St.George, in classical dress and haloed, mounted an a rearing horse, slays the dragon with a lance. Legend: "THE GEORGE MEDAL". Inscription on edge: "ANDREW MCLENNAN REID". Suspended by a loop and ring from a red ribbon with five narrow blue stripes. In box of issue.
