Miniature entitled 'Vice Admiral Brian Hodgson 1778-1855' executed in watercolour and gum arabic. The miniature consists of the image itself, a piece of marbled backing paper, a gilt frame, a piece of embossed foil, and a lock of human hair. The miniature is now detached from its case.
