A port bow view of Fox (1855) alongside the dockwall at the entrance to East India Dock.

A port bow view of Fox (1855), a three-masted yacht purchased for the private expedition under Captain Leopold McClintock to search for any survivors and relics from the Franklin Expedition (1845-1848). The yacht is moored alongside the dock wall in the East India Dock basin to right of the entrance. In the background behind the dock wall is the roof of the Trinity Arms public house, Orchard Place.

When the yacht returned it went to Portsmouth first on 21 September before arriving in London. The Fox was then placed into dock at Blackwall on 23 September 1859.
