The BRITANNIA together with fourteen other First and Second Rates ships are ordered into Chatham to be laid up and paid off. They are to be surveyed for defects and an account is to be submitted of the cost of repairing them as soon as possible for service next summer. A Ketch is urgently required to act as a tender to the fleet in the West Indies. This vessel may be hired or seconded as one already in service in the Navy.
