In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

This Board, in pursuance of His Majesty's commands, have given strict Orders to the several Commanders of their Majesties' Ships that on no pretence whatsover, they, nor any of their Officers or Company, shall demand or receive any Money,Gratuity, Reward or other consideration from any of the Masters of Ships under their Convoy.
When necessary for the Commanders with Convoys under their charge to give Masters Sailing Instructions for Security against the Enemy, and to take away any pretence they may receive anything from the Masters, we direct you to prepare a Draught of Instructions you judge proper to be given to the Masters of Convoys in this case (printed copies of which are to be given to each Commander to use as he shall have occasion) and return the same as soon as possible to this Board.
