Patch box
Circular patch box commemorating Admiral of the Fleet, Lord Richard Howe (1726-1799). The surface is enamelled, the white sides with a polychrome scroll and flower design. The white lid is decorated with an untinted transfer depicting a left profile, head and shoulders view of Howe. He is shown in uniform with a hat and holding a sword; 'ADML EARL HOWE' is inscribed above. There is a mirror inside the lid.
