Dirk

Curved bladed dirk. The hilt consists of a gilt metal cross piece with semi-circular langets and 'hooked' pommel with turned ivory grip. The blade is curved, flat, blued and gilt for two-thirds of it's length. There is a copper-gilt scabbard with two suspension rings. Engraved on the scabbard is 'Cox/ Plymouth Dock'. This is part of the Spinney Collection which includes, in total, sixteen swords, five dirks and three pistols (AAA3114 (pair) and 3115).
