Pocket chronometer in a silver-gilt case, within a later mahogany deck box. Mainspring has been replaced with letter from Dent's to Capt. Richards 4 January 1910. Full-plate, Earnshaw escapement and compensation balance, helical oversprung. Said to have been used by Capt McClure in search fro Franklin 1850-4.
