What’s On

OUTing the Past
The National Maritime Museum is delighted to host the national festival of OUTing the Past, dedicated to the celebration of queer history. Join us for an evening of fascinating talks that will take you on a historic journey of queer resilience, brilliance and imagination.
Out at Sea
Join us for a festival celebrating queer maritime history through the ages, suitable for the whole family. Take part in creative workshops, storytelling, performances and a new queer tour of the National Maritime Museum.

Queer Eye for the Museum Guide
Ever looked at an image or object in a museum and considered there could be an alternative LGBTQ+ subtext?
Queer Eye for the Museum Guide explores the multiple ways in which objects can be interpreted and celebrates the LGBTQ+ community's ability to subvert heteronormative narratives through camp, irony and humour. For this online event, a selected group of artists, academics and activists interpret objects in our collection that aren’t necessarily connected.

Fierce Queens: Secrets of the Deep
Welcome back to our annual queer takeover of the Queen’s House and join our Fierce Queens, Kings and everyone in between to celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month.
Our spectacular hosts Adam All and Apple Derrieres will take you on an underwater journey to explore the magical depths of the Queen’s House. Featuring gender diverse performances, queer history treasure hunts and much more.
